kevin

kevin is a heater.
just from this sentence, one can easily tell the lenghth we are willing to go down the ridicule road for amy.

last year, being both cheap and energy-conservertive people, ok, mostly being cheap people, we bought a small heater just for amy's room. back then, she's still innocent and fearless, poking around absolutely EVERYTHING. so that purchase actually lightened up her mood for quite some days. she'd point at the heater and keep mumbling, smiling, like the heater is an interesting and nice company.

now as the time passes by, some girlish stuff got unleashed from inside of her, she became this semi-annoying delicate lady. instead of exploring, she's scared of absolutely EVERYTHING. the heater, of course, freaked the crap out of her. every time when i plug it, it'll give a very faint beep. that's when amy would run like a ghost is chasing her. it's not a very big room, but everytime she'd manage to find the farthest corner, checking out the heater with an on-the-verge-of-cry look. if at this time i press the oscillating button, which starts the heater's movement, she'd definitely burst into a huge cry. such a drama shows in her room every night last week when there's a cold front in our area. i had to make up different stories to comfort her. boy let me tell you this, it AINT EASY!

just when i reached the edge of my sanity, here come the rescuer, DADDY.

last saturday i went to a faculty party. before i left, i explained the situation with heater to him in such a detail that he literally said SHUT UP to me. when i came back, of course the first thing i asked him is how he's doing with the heater, expecting he starts the complaining process. however, being a person very thrift with his words, he simply told me, i named the heater KEVIN. i was like, !#$%^&*()(*&^%$#), speechless.

the following morning, instead of yelling MOMMY~MOMMY ~, expecting someone rescue her from the crib, and of course, the heater, amy's cheerfully talking to the heater, HI~ KEVIN~ HOW ARE YOU KEVIN~

sigh, who said mommy works wonder? in our family, definitely it's the daddy who can do that.
